Tangent Scale Models Unveils New HO Scale Freight Car

The Gunderson Bros. boxcar. 50-foot and 6,089-cubic-foot capacity double-door, double-stack joins the company’s product line

Tangent Scale Models has unveiled a Gunderson Bros. wagon. 50-foot, 6,089-cubic-foot double-capped double-door at the St. Louis Railroad Prototype Modelers Meeting in Collinsville, Illinois on Friday, 29 July. release of the second new freight car in 2022.

The model, in stock now, is decked out for Denver & Rio Grande Western (1969 delivery scheme), Golden West Service (B-70-43 class, 1996+ paint program), Southern Pacific (B-70-43 class, delivery 1969 scheme) and St. Louis Southwestern (Class B-70-42, paint scheme 1984+). The boxcar is offered in 12 route numbers per scheme; an undecorated kit is also available.

Model features, priced at $56.95, include road-specific detailing, Birdsboro Foundry 70-ton Barber S-2 roller bearing trucks, clear etched metal crossover platforms, end caps and a Stanray roof, rubber air hoses and Kadee ladder couplers.
